PhD ECE is approximately a three to five year course in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
PhD ECE eligibility criteria requires candidates to have a master’s degree in Engineering or Technology from recognized University or from a reputed college.
PhD ECE course fees range between INR 70,000 to 2.5 lakhs for the entire course duration. PhD ECE is based on the entrance tests counselling depending on the college/ university and further counselling after clearing the entrance.
Some of the major job profiles and designations that one might expect after graduating from PhD ECE includes Lecturer/Professor, Electronics and Communications Consultant, Customer Support Engineer, Network Planning Engineer Instrumentation Engineer, Technical Director, Senior Sales Manager, Field Test Engineer and Database Administrator etc.
To enter into a Ph.D. course in Electrical Communication Engineering one must pass the following eligibility criteria:
A minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 6 and more on a scale of 10 is required. Further a M.Tech degree of a University or an equivalent for Ph.D. in Engineering/ Technology in respective branch. GATE/ NET qualified students are also preferred for admission in this course.
Further a candidate must have a minimum score of 60% in X & XII. BE/ B Tech (ECE or relevant areas of Electronics Engineering) must have a minimum of 60% and ME/ M. Tech/ S ((ECE or Instrumentation or Measurements or Signal Processing or Embedded Systems or VLSI ) with a minimum of 60% score or grade points average from any acclaimed Indian or Foreign University.
Lastly, candidates who have completed their MTech/ME/MSc course in any of the equivalent streams are eligible to apply for the PhD ECE course.
The payment of the qualified candidate varies according to the industry he works in, for instance in Governmental Organisations he might get a salary between INR 10,000 to 32,000 every month. While on the other hand in the private sector he might get a salary of INR 3.5 to 4 Lacs per annum.
